Let's Work with a Song

Queen are a British rock band formed in London in
1970. They originally consisted of Freddie Mercury (lead
vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), John Deacon
(bass guitar), and Roger Taylor (drums, vocals). Queen's
earliest works were influenced by progressive rock, hard
rock and heavy metal, but the band gradually ventured
into more conventional and radio-friendly works by
incorporating further styles, such as arena rock and pop
rock, into their music.

Listen to the song and circle the correct form of the
verbs in bold.

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS

I paid / 've paid my dues
Time after time
I've done/ did my sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes
I made / 've made a few
I've had / had my share of sand
Kicked in my face
But I've come/ came through

Chorus
We are the champions, my friends
And we'll keep on fighting
Till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
Cause we are the champions of the world

I've taken / took my bows
And my curtain calls
You ‘ve brought / brought me fame and fortune
And everything that goes with it
I thank you all
But it's been / was no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise
I consider it a challenge before
The whole human race
And I ain't gonna lose

Repeat chorus 2x
